About Sabah

Located on East of Malaysia, Sabah is the second largest state in Malaysia.

KOTA KINABALU

Kota Kinabalu is a city situated strategically on the West Coast of the Malaysian state of Sabah. Abbreviated locally as ‘KK’, the city is the seventh largest in Malaysia, hosting a population over 450 million people that compose a diverse variety of ethnic groups including native tribes of coastal and highland origin.

Surrounded by lovely beaches, tropical islands, and picturesque landscapes, KK is a charming modern city offering international-standard hotels and resorts. KK is also the gateway to one of Southeast Asia’s tallest mountains, Mount Kinabalu. It serves as the gateway to the rest of Sabah.

SANDAKAN

Sandakan began to prosper in 1879, British built a new settlement and developed Sandakan into a commercial and trading center, making it the main administrative center for North Borneo.

British encouraged the migration of Chinese and British Hong Kong to develop the economy of Sandakan. It was nicknamed Little Hong Kong due to the strong presence of ethnic Chinese migration from Hong Kong (mainly Cantonese and Hakka).

Sandakan is also well-known for ecotourism (Orangutan Sepilok rehabilitation station, Turtle Islands Park, Gomantong Caves which famous for bird’s nest).

Are you eligible to apply?

The MM2H programme is open to all countries recognised by Malaysia but the programme has numerous requirements.

  • Open to all citizens of countries recognized by Malaysia. (Except Israel regardless of race, religion and gender).
  • Main applicant must visit Sabah in the recent years. Sabah immigration will request entry to Sabah stamp on your passport.
  • Main applicant can bring along spouse and children below 18 years old. Main applicant must NOT be younger than 30 years old. If you are between 30-50 years old, it is recommended to furnish school acceptance letter or residence address to increase chance of MM2H approval.
  • Main applicant may be required to show proof of residence address in Sabah as supporting documents such as Sales & Purchase Agreement (Buy a house) or Tenancy Agreement (Rent a house) in Sabah.

Financial Requirements

  • Main applicant below and above 50 years are both required to show proof offshore income of RM10,000 per month.
  • Main applicant below 50 years old is required to show liquid assets worth a minimum of RM500,000 and above 50 years old is RM350,000.
  • Main applicant is required to open a RM150,000 fixed deposit in Sabah for those aged >50 years / RM300, 000 for those aged <50 years for 10 years after MM2H approval.
  • On second year, MM2H holder may withdraw up to RM50,000 for those aged >50 years / RM150,000 for those aged <50 years for approved expenses related to house purchase, car, education for children and medical purposes from Fixed Deposit.

Application Procedures

  • Schedule a Zoom meeting with SummerPlace (MM2H) Sdn. Bhd. for personalized consultation.
  • Sign up Sabah MM2H application and make deposit payment.
  • Prepare Letter of Good Conduct and other documents according to Application Checklist.
  • Sign relevant documents and courier to Malaysia office.
  • Once all documents are complete, MM2H agency will collect balance payment.
  • Then proceed to official submission of your MM2H application to Sabah Immigration.
  • After 3-4 months, Sabah immigration will announce the outcome of your MM2H application.
  • Main applicant must arrange at least 3 working days visiting Sabah after MM2H approval within 6-months.
  • Before visiting Sabah for visa endorsement, main applicant must pre-open bank account in Sabah and transfer RM300,000/RM150,000 to main applicant’s bank account in Sabah.
  • Main applicant and family must undergo full medical check-up including blood test and urine test.
  • Main applicant and family must purchase medical insurance locally (exempted if you have global insurance).
  • Visa endorsement at Sabah immigration.
